Write, record, and perform like a pro

Every great composition starts as an idea — a simple melody or rhythm that you flesh out with accompaniment and arrange into a finished piece. With the Yamaha PSR-SX920 arranger workstation, you’ll find that magical process smoother, faster, and more intuitive than ever. With amazing instrument voices and exciting Accompaniment Styles at your fingertips, creating rich music beds and fully developed songs with the PSR-SX920 is as simple as playing a few chords on its silky, synth-action keybed. The onboard joystick controller lets you achieve the wide variety of pitch and modulation combinations presented by many different world music styles. Add in hundreds of effects options to choose from, assignable real-time controls, and an intuitive color touchscreen for easy navigation, and you’re just starting to get the picture of what this awesome arranger has in store.

Your backing band awaits

Many composers will tell you that a top-shelf arranger keyboard is, practically speaking, the most efficient way to realize a musical idea. And nobody understands arranger keyboards like Yamaha. The PSR-SX920’s Accompaniment Styles add an instant backing band to your performances while you maintain control over the chord changes and arrangement. In live settings, this functionality is made all the easier with Chord Looper, which lets you record chord progressions for the Style engine to loop, freeing you to play with two hands and to solo without having to comp the changes. You can quickly audition hundreds of Styles, instantly swap out instruments, and record your arrangements on the PSR-SX920’s 16-track record recorder/player or capture performances directly to a USB thumb drive. You’ll find the Style Section Reset feature, which, with a single button press, ensures your virtual drummer keeps to the downbeat, particularly useful for arrangements that include inserted bars with differing time signatures.

Packed with premium content

Pre-loaded with Yamaha’s premium Voice and Style content, the PSR-SX920 comes packed with an arsenal of great sounds to suit any genre, including exotic world music styles. While non-keyboard instruments are authentically rendered by Yamaha’s acclaimed Super Articulation 2 sound engine, the PSR-SX920 includes a rich library of expertly curated and updated keyboard instruments, many of them from the company’s esteemed sound-design oeuvre, which dates back decades. Use the instrument/mic input to lay down a guitar part or a vocal. Let the Vocal Harmony engine automatically add professional, multilayered harmonies to your voice. Need more exotic sounds? Voice & Style Expansion Packs let you customize your PSR-SX920 with a broad range of additional content from around the world.
