Eufy SoloCam E42 4K UHD AI 360-degree PTZ Wireless Outdoor Solar Network Camera T8173321

The eufy SoloCam E42 T8173321 is a wire-free 4K outdoor security camera designed to provide wide-area surveillance with intelligent automatic tracking and integrated solar charging. Its 8MP camera captures true 4K Ultra HD footage, while 355° horizontal and 70° vertical pan-and-tilt movement provides extensive coverage around entrances, gardens and driveways. Built-in AI can detect and automatically track people, vehicles and important events, while infrared night vision, a 250-lumen spotlight, 103dB siren and two-way audio provide comprehensive day-and-night security. SolarPlus 2.0 technology uses an integrated 3W solar panel to maintain the camera's battery with sufficient daily sunlight, while local microSD storage provides subscription-free recording.

True 4K Outdoor Surveillance

The SoloCam E42 captures video at true 4K Ultra HD resolution using an 8MP imaging system, providing the detail needed for monitoring entrances, driveways and other outdoor areas. Eufy states that the camera can recognise licence plates from distances up to approximately 10 metres under suitable viewing conditions.

355° Pan and 70° Tilt

Motorised pan-and-tilt movement enables the SoloCam E42 to cover a significantly wider area than a fixed-position outdoor camera. It provides 355° horizontal rotation and 70° vertical movement together with a 110° lens field of view, helping minimise blind spots around the monitored property.

AI Motion Detection and Auto Tracking

Built-in AI enables the camera to detect and automatically track people, vehicles and supported important events within its field of view. Rather than remaining fixed in one direction, the motorised camera can follow detected movement to help maintain visibility of relevant activity.

8× Digital Zoom

Up to 8× digital zoom provides additional enlargement when users need to inspect subjects or objects within the camera's field of view. Combined with the high-resolution 4K sensor, this provides flexible viewing for outdoor monitoring.

SolarPlus 2.0 Charging

The SoloCam E42 incorporates a 3W solar panel with eufy's SolarPlus 2.0 technology. Eufy states that approximately two hours of direct sunlight per day can provide sufficient energy for continuous operation under typical usage conditions. Under optimal sunlight, the integrated solar panel can collect approximately 450–600mAh per day, while typical daily camera consumption is stated at approximately 150–200mAh.

Night Vision and Active Deterrence

Infrared night vision enables surveillance after dark, while an integrated 250-lumen spotlight provides additional visible illumination. A powerful 103dB siren and motion-activated visual deterrence can help discourage unwanted visitors and alert nearby occupants to suspicious activity.

Two-Way Audio

Integrated two-way audio allows users to listen and communicate through the camera remotely. This provides a convenient way to speak with visitors, delivery personnel or other people around the monitored area.

Subscription-Free Local Storage

The SoloCam E42 supports local recording to a compatible microSD card with capacities up to 256GB, allowing surveillance footage to be retained without requiring a mandatory monthly cloud subscription. The microSD card is sold separately.

HomeBase Compatibility

The camera can operate with compatible eufy HomeBase systems, including HomeBase S380 and HomeBase S280. Connecting to HomeBase S380 provides access to additional AI-enhanced functionality and expandable local storage of up to 16TB, while HomeBase S280 can be used for compatible centralised camera management.
