Exceptionally soft, naturally absorbent and beautifully understated, the Maruyama Organic Cotton Binchotan Face Towel in Charcoal combines pure organic cotton with the remarkable qualities of traditional Japanese Binchotan charcoal.
Made in Nara, Japan, from 100% organic cotton, the face towel has a soft, breathable texture that is gentle against the face and delicate skin. Highly absorbent yet quick to dry, it is perfectly suited to daily cleansing, skincare rituals or simply as a beautifully made hand and face towel.
Finely processed Binchotan charcoal is incorporated into the textile, lending the fabric the natural deodorising qualities for which this traditional Japanese white charcoal is prized. The result is a towel that brings together natural materials, thoughtful functionality and generations of Japanese textile knowledge.
The subtle grey tone and tactile woven surface give it a quiet, contemporary character that sits beautifully in both modern and traditional bathrooms.
Material: 100% Organic Cotton with Binchotan Charcoal
Size: 35 x 35cm
Made in: Nara, Japan
Use: Face, hands, cleansing and daily skincare
Care: Wash before first use to encourage the natural softness and absorbency of the cotton. Hand or machine wash with a mild detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softener, which may affect the natural fibres and absorbency. Reshape after washing and air dry thoroughly. Some shrinkage and softening with washing are natural characteristics of the fabric.
The Binchotan Difference
Binchotan is a traditional Japanese white charcoal produced through an exacting firing process and valued in Japan for centuries for its natural purifying and deodorising properties.
Maruyama incorporates finely processed Binchotan into the textile, bringing these naturally functional qualities to an everyday bathroom essential. Combined with breathable organic cotton, it creates a face towel that feels wonderfully gentle against the skin while remaining practical for repeated daily use.
About Maruyama
Founded in Nara, Japan, in 1930, Maruyama Fiber Industry began as a specialist producer of kaya, the loosely woven textile traditionally used for Japanese mosquito netting.
Drawing on generations of Nara textile expertise, Maruyama has adapted these traditional techniques to create contemporary textiles for the home and everyday life. Through its Nawrap collection, the company combines natural materials with thoughtful Japanese design, creating products distinguished by their softness, breathability, absorbency and durability.
The Organic Cotton Binchotan Face Towel is a beautiful expression of this philosophy - pure organic cotton, traditional Japanese Binchotan and generations of Nara craftsmanship brought together in a simple object for everyday use.
