Look, feel, and discover, the Little Dutch Soft Activity Spiral in Safari Friends is a simple, versatile toy designed to keep a baby happily occupied wherever they happen to be.

It wraps easily around the bars of a cot, playpen, or pram, bringing a trio of soft safari companions, an alligator, a lion, and an elephant within easy reach for grabbing, batting, and exploring.

Made from soft corduroy and polyester, each little friend offers a slightly different shape and texture to discover, giving baby plenty of sensory variety in one compact toy. Because it spirals around a rail rather than sitting loose, it stays exactly where it's placed, making it a reliable, everyday companion at home or out and about.

A simple, well-made toy that supports a baby's earliest reaching and grasping attempts, and exactly the kind of considered, versatile sensory toy we're glad to include in an OT-curated store.

Please note: for safety, this toy should be attached out of your child's direct reach, and removed once your little one starts trying to get up on hands and knees in a crawling position, to prevent the risk of entanglement. Adult assembly required.

What's Included:

1 x Soft activity spiral (corduroy/polyester)

3 x Attached plush safari friends (alligator, lion, elephant)

Total: 1 piece (spiral with three attached soft toys) Recommended age: 0+ months, under adult supervision — remove once baby begins crawling (see safety note above)

What the OT Says:

As an occupational therapist, I like a toy like this activity spiral because it's so adaptable, it goes wherever baby goes, and asks nothing of a caregiver beyond attaching it once. That makes it an easy, low-effort way to build in small, regular opportunities for sensory and motor practice throughout the day.

Each of the three soft friends offers a slightly different shape and texture to explore, which supports early tactile sensory processing. Because they're fixed in place along the spiral rather than loose, baby can return to the same friend again and again, building familiarity while still having variety to choose between, a nice balance for early sensory learning.

Reaching toward, batting at, and eventually grasping each soft toy gives baby valuable early practice in hand-eye coordination and reach-and-grasp development.

Because the spiral holds everything at a consistent, predictable position, baby also gets the chance to build a mental map of where each friend is early spatial awareness that develops through repeated, playful reaching rather than any formal teaching.

Like any toy attached to a cot or pram rail, this one does come with an important safety consideration: it should be removed once a baby starts trying to get up on hands and knees, to avoid any risk of entanglement, With that in mind, I'd happily recommend this as an easy, versatile sensory toy for the early months at home or on the go.
