Baobab Fruit Powder (Natural Exfoliant) - Essentially Natural

Baobab Fruit Powder is a finely milled botanical powder made from the naturally dried fruit pulp of the African baobab tree ( Adansonia digitata ). Its fine texture makes it a lovely addition to facial masks, powder cleansers and gentle exfoliating blends, offering a softer polishing feel than traditional coarse scrub particles. Baobab fruit pulp naturally contains vitamin C and plant antioxidant compounds, bringing additional botanical character to skincare formulations. Sourced from South Africa and made from 100% baobab fruit pulp with no added fillers, carriers or preservatives, it is a versatile ingredient for creating simple, plant-based skincare.

♡ Why we love it: We love the gentle, fine texture of this South African botanical and how easily it can be incorporated into freshly mixed face masks and cleansing powders. It's a wonderfully simple way to explore natural fruit-based skincare.

FAQs

Q: Is Baobab Fruit Powder the same as baobab seed powder?
A: No. This powder is made from the dried fruit pulp rather than the seeds. It has a much finer texture than the coarse granules commonly used in traditional physical scrubs, making it better suited to gentle polishing blends and botanical masks.

Q: Does Baobab Fruit Powder dissolve completely in water?
A: No, it is only partially soluble. Some of the fruit pulp will disperse into the water while fine material may remain suspended, contributing to the texture of the finished blend.

Q: Can I add Baobab Fruit Powder to a ready-made cream or lotion?
A: It's generally easier to work with in powder cleansers and freshly mixed rinse-off treatments. Adding a botanical powder to an existing cream or lotion can affect its texture, stability and preservation, so proper formulation testing is recommended.

Q: Is Baobab Fruit Powder a chemical exfoliant like an AHA?
A: No. It is a finely milled botanical powder rather than a standardised AHA ingredient. Its polishing effect depends on the finished formulation and how gently it is used.
