The Carrot Harvest Game is a wooden garden set that turns a simple scene into three ways to play. Six chunky carrots sit snugly in their soil beds on a cheerful triangular board, waiting for little hands to pull them up. Each carrot comes apart into three pieces held together with Velcro, so once it’s harvested it can be sliced with the wooden knife, mixed, matched and put back together. Tucked into the board are ten little worms for a gentle magnetic fishing game.
Children can play in whatever way suits them that day. A younger toddler may simply enjoy pulling the carrots out and pushing them back in. An older child might sort them by colour, “cook” them in a pretend kitchen, or fish for every worm before planting the garden again. Because the board keeps all the pieces in one place, packing away becomes part of the game too.
Made from smooth, brightly finished wood with soft felt carrot tops, the Carrot Harvest Game is sturdy enough to last through years of play and to be passed on to a younger sibling. It’s a calm, screen-free toy that brings real-life gardening and kitchen play into your home.

What the OT Says
When I choose a toy for the shop, I look for one that offers more than one way in. The Carrot Harvest Game does this well. Pulling a carrot out of a snug hole asks a child to grasp, hold on and pull with the right amount of force. It’s a lovely way to practise graded force and hand strength, and the carrots are a good size for a whole-hand grasp in younger toddlers. As children mature, they can move towards a more refined grip.
The cutting game is where I see a lot of value. To slice through the Velcro, a child holds the carrot steady with one hand while the other works the knife. This is bilateral coordination: both hands doing different jobs at the same time. That pattern sits underneath many everyday skills later on, like holding paper while cutting with scissors or steadying a bowl while eating. Putting the carrot pieces back together adds problem-solving, colour matching and early part-to-whole thinking.
The magnetic fishing game brings in a different challenge. Guiding the rod to a small worm takes hand-eye coordination, visual tracking and motor planning, and children often need to slow down and hold their attention to be successful. That focus, the small “try again” moments, and the satisfaction of catching each worm can all support persistence and early executive function skills.
There’s also a lot of room for language and pretend play. Pull, push, cut, in, out, under, colour names and counting all come up naturally, especially when an adult plays alongside. Depending on how it’s used, this Harvest Game can support fine motor skills, bilateral coordination, hand-eye coordination, sensory exploration, language and imaginative play. I’d happily recommend it for home play, and it’s a versatile, durable choice for therapy rooms and early learning classrooms too.
