Some of the best sensory play happens in the in-between moments, a walk to the shops, a drive to gran's house, a few minutes strapped into the pram before a nap.
The Little Dutch Safari Friends Stroller Booklet is made exactly for those windows of time: a soft fabric "book" filled with cheerful safari animals, a mix of textures, and a small baby-safe mirror, all in Little Dutch's gentle, natural safari palette.
Rather than pages to turn and read, this is a book to explore with the hands, crinkling, soft-fabric, and textured pages give baby something new to discover on every spread, and the little mirror offers a moment of self-discovery along the way.
A sturdy attachment loop means it clips securely to a pram, stroller, car seat, or cot, so it's always within reach exactly when it's needed, without ending up lost at the bottom of the changing bag.
Made from soft, gentle materials and machine washable at 30°C, it's built for real, everyday use dropped, chewed, and dragged along without losing its charm.
A lovely addition to a newborn gift set, or a practical, screen-free way to keep a baby happily occupied on the go, which is exactly the kind of considered, quietly developmental toy we love to have in an OT-curated store.
Total: 1 piece (booklet with built-in mirror and attachment loop) Recommended age: 0+ months, under adult supervision
As an occupational therapist, I'm always drawn to toys that turn "dead time" the pram walk, the car seat wait, the few minutes before a feed into an opportunity for gentle sensory engagement, and that's exactly what this stroller booklet offers. It's designed to be explored rather than played with in a structured way, which suits a young baby's developmental stage perfectly.
Each spread offers a different tactile experience soft fabric, crinkle pages, and varied textures, which supports early sensory processing.
Exposing a baby to a range of textures like this, in short, low-pressure bursts, helps their nervous system begin to organise and interpret touch input, which is foundational work long before it looks like "learning" in any obvious way.
The small mirror is one of my favourite features in toys like this. Babies are naturally drawn to faces, and a safe, baby-appropriate mirror gives them a chance to look, notice movement, and begin the very early stages of self-awareness and visual tracking, following their own reflection as it shifts is genuinely engaging visual work for a young baby. Reaching toward the booklet, batting at the pages, or gripping the attachment loop also offers early opportunities to practise reach, grasp, and hand-eye coordination, all at baby's own pace.
Because it attaches securely to a pram or car seat, it also supports a baby's growing ability to self-direct their own attention during outings, they can look, engage, or look away as they choose, which is a small but real step toward independent exploration. I'd happily recommend this as an easy, versatile addition to nappy bags and prams at home, or as a simple sensory tool for paediatric OT sessions on the go.
