What’s Included:
The 10Good Sharpening Station 5-Piece Set comprises the following essentials:
A 10Good #1000 Medium Grit Whetstone - the versatile stone perfect for daily knife maintenance.
Hinoki Cypress Sharpening Stand - a smooth, grippy wooden base that holds the whetstone securely.
Whetstone Storage Box - keeps everything neatly together and doubles as a stable work surface.
Flattening File / Sheet - restores a perfectly flat stone surface to ensure consistent sharpening.
Rust Eraser - gently removes surface rust or stains from carbon steel blades.
Instruction Manual - clear, illustrated guidance on sharpening technique for beginners.
Whetstone Size: approx. 210 × 70 × 20 mm (8.3 × 2.7 × 0.8 in) — generous surface for stable contact and consistent sharpening.
Materials: Ceramic whetstone; hinoki cypress wood base; durable storage box; metal flattening file; rubber eraser.
Origin: Crafted in Japan with a focus on quality and functional design.
To keep your sharpening station performing at its best:
Soak the Whetstone: Immerse the stone in water for about 15–30 minutes before use - this ensures smooth abrasion and effective sharpening.
Flatten Regularly: As you use the stone, its surface can wear unevenly. Run the included flattening file or sheet across the stone periodically to maintain a perfectly flat plane.
Clean & Dry: After use, rinse away slurry and let all components air-dry completely before storing to prevent moisture buildup.
Rust Eraser Use: For carbon steel knives showing surface rust, use the rust eraser gently to renew the finish before sharpening.
The 10Good brand emerges from a long and distinguished tradition of Japanese whetstone manufacturing. Rooted in Tokoname City - an area renowned for ceramic artisanship - its parent company traces its expertise back to the 1940s, with decades dedicated to producing artificial whetstones crafted for everyday use and enduring performance.
Operating under the philosophy that “good things come from sharpening,” 10Good combines historical know-how with thoughtful design to lower the barrier to proper blade care. Their mission is simple: make knife sharpening accessible, satisfying, and effective for every kitchen.
