Maruyama Organic Throw Blanket - Charcoal

Light, beautifully soft and effortlessly versatile, the Maruyama Organic Throw Blanket in Charcoal is a refined example of Japanese textile craftsmanship designed for the quiet rituals of everyday life.

Made in Nara, Japan, the blanket is woven from 100% organic cotton and rayon creating a wonderfully breathable and comfortable layer that provides warmth without the weight of a conventional heavy blanket. Its softly textured weave has a relaxed, tactile character and becomes increasingly supple with washing and continued use.

Generously sized at approximately 147 x 171cm, it is ideal draped across a bed or sofa, wrapped around the shoulders on cooler evenings or used as a lightweight additional layer throughout the seasons. Its breathable cotton construction also makes it particularly useful during warmer months when only a light covering is needed.

Understated in appearance and beautifully tactile, the Maruyama Throw Blanket reflects a distinctly Japanese appreciation for natural materials, simplicity and objects that become more familiar and comfortable through use.

Size: Approx: 147cm x 171cm
Material: 83% Organic Cotton / 17% Binchotan Rayon - 4 layers
Made in: Nara, Japan
Use: Bed, sofa, lounging and lightweight seasonal layering

Care: Wash cold before first use to encourage the natural softness of the fabric. Hand or machine wash on a gentle cold cycle using a mild detergent. Wash with similar colours and avoid bleach and fabric softener. Reshape while damp and air dry naturally. Do not tumble dry. Some shrinkage and subtle variation in texture after washing are natural characteristics of the woven cotton.

About Maruyama

Founded in Nara, Japan, in 1930, Maruyama Fiber Industry has its origins in the manufacture of kaya, the light, open-weave fabric traditionally used for Japanese mosquito netting.

Drawing on generations of specialist textile knowledge, Maruyama has reinterpreted this traditional Nara craft for contemporary living. Through its Nawrap collection, the company creates beautifully functional household textiles characterised by their breathability, absorbency, durability and exceptional softness with use.

The Maruyama Throw Blanket embodies this philosophy beautifully: natural, uncomplicated and thoughtfully made in Japan - a textile designed not simply to decorate the home, but to become part of everyday life.
