The Chiba “Peel S” has a great reputation for cutting “Katsuramuki”. Katsuramuki refers to the traditional cutting technique that creates long, thin sheets from cylindrical vegetables as a garnish, traditionally Daikon, in Japan.
Achieve the refined art of "Katsuramuki" with this elegant manual vegetable slicer, crafting exquisite spiral cuts from an array of produce—courgettes, squash, carrots, potatoes, cabbage, and onions—with remarkable precision. These delicate slices elevate culinary presentations, whether adorning salads, enhancing sandwiches, or providing sophisticated garnishes. Beyond mere visual appeal, this professional-grade tool introduces vibrant chromatic elements to your cuisine while offering discerning diners nutritionally balanced, specialized dietary alternatives.
To use this slicer, first cut off the ends of your vegetable to create two flat surfaces. Press one side firmly into the blade and push the other into the spikes of the vegetable turner. Once your vegetable is secure, apply pressure to the other area with your thumb and with your other hand begin spinning the handle to press the vegetable into the blade. As you turn, uniform slices of vegetables will begin pouring out the other side.
This slicer is made of durable plastic and stainless steel for quality and precision, and is a great addition to any kitchen, deli, restaurant, hotel, or catering operation.
Please note, you can not cut garnish with the Katsuramuki machine alone. If you want to cut garnish, you have to purchase a Peel S garnish cutting adapter and exchange the parts.
