One of our aims is to partner with local artists and photographers to bring you uniquely South African images. This image, from Thomas Bennie was the first one we acquired. I fell in love with this image when I saw it, I thought it was such a different and fresh angle on Jhb inner city, still including the well-known bridge and some Madiba magic. This image was taken in Braamfontein, offering a lovely, almost raw look of the city, in beautiful colours. I love this city and this unique image can be yours to paint and enjoy with us.
We hope you share our enthusiasm and if you like this image, go check out his other photographs on his Instagram (@thomasbenniephotography).
This 40 x 50cm version of his photograph is a challenging one to paint, with 28 colours. Each box contains a stretched, printed and numbered canvas, paint, brushes and a page detailing the numbers for an extra reference.
