Wooden Geometric Solids

Introduce children to the world of three-dimensional shapes through hands-on discovery and purposeful play. This beautiful 10-piece wooden geometric solids set invites children to explore shape, size, balance and form in a concrete and meaningful way. Rooted in Montessori principles, these solids encourage self-directed learning through touch, movement and exploration.

Children naturally learn best when they can hold, compare and manipulate real objects. From cylinders and cones to spheres and prisms, each solid helps build early mathematical understanding while strengthening spatial awareness, problem-solving and descriptive language.

Carefully crafted from wood with a smooth tactile finish, these solids are ideal for home learning spaces, classrooms, therapy settings and invitations to play.

What’s Included:

• 10 wooden geometric solids
• Downloadable file with flashcards of everyday objects matching the wooden shapes
• A variety of common 3D shapes including shapes such as:
  • sphere
  • cube
  • cone
  • cylinder
  • rectangular prism
  • triangular prism
  • square pyramid
  • ovoid
  • ellipsoid

What Our OT Says:

Tactile learning plays an important role in helping children understand abstract concepts in a concrete way. When children can physically hold and explore geometric solids, learning becomes more meaningful and easier to retain.

This set supports:

• tactile discrimination through different edges, curves and surfaces
• bilateral coordination while manipulating and comparing shapes
• visual-spatial development and body awareness
• mathematical language such as flat, curved, edge, corner and face
• sensory integration through hands-on exploration
• early problem-solving and classification skills

Wooden materials also provide a calming, grounded sensory experience compared to overstimulating plastic alternatives. The weight, texture and temperature of the solids encourage slower, more intentional exploration and learning.
