The monitor shows pixel density comparison between 1920x1080 pixel FHD high definition and 2560x1440 pixel QHD high definition by dividing the screen into two different regions. QHD high definition shows richer, more detailed ship and planetary surfaces.

1000R curvature

Vivid scenes wrap even more tightly around you. Experience the next level of heart-pounding gaming that’s superior to anything you’ve seen before. The 1000R display fills your peripheral vision and draws you into the character’s shoes.

A man sits at an Odyssey G5 monitor in dim lighting, using a mouse and keyboard while wearing headphones. A blue light placed on the upper side of the bezel highlights the curvature of the monitor.

165Hz refresh rate & 1ms response time(MPRT)

Speed through scenes. 165Hz refresh rate eliminates lag for exhilarating gameplay with ultra-smooth action. Jump on enemies right when you see them with a 1ms response time(MPRT) for frames with minimal blur.

* Image simulated for illustrative purposes.
** “1 ms” means one milliseconds which is the range of avg. response time between 1.00ms to 1.99ms truncated to whole number.
*** Based on MPRT measured under internal test conditions. Results may vary by content and monitor settings (requires ‘Extreme mode’ setting).
**** MPRT(Moving Picture Response Time) measures the time taken for a pixel to transition from one image frame to another (motion blur measurement).

A monitor which is seen from its right side shows two spaceships blasting off into space. The monitor is split in two to show the difference in display quality comparing two different refresh rates and response time, one for Samsung conventional monitor with 60Hz and 5ms and the other for Odyssey G5 with 165Hz and 1ms.

AMD FreeSync

Superfluid entertainment experience. AMD Radeon FreeSync™ keeps your monitor and graphics card refresh rate in sync to reduce image tearing. Watch movies and play games without interruptions. Even fast scenes look seamless and smooth.

* Image simulated for illustrative purposes.

Two monitors side by side show the same spaceship. The left side is FreeSync Off while the right side is FreeSync On, demonstrating the impact of FreeSync in preventing screen tearing.

Eye Saver Mode & Less Screen Flickering

Play for even longer. Eye Saver Mode minimizes blue light to help keep your eyes relaxed and comfortable when gaming for extended periods. The Odyssey G5 also reduces irritating and tiring screen flicker, so you can focus longer with less distraction and eye strain.

* Image simulated for illustrative purposes.

The screen is divided into two parts with the left side showing the ships without Eye Saver Mode with screen flickering, with the copies "Eye Saver Mode OFF" and "Screen Flickering" below. The right side shows the ships with Eye Saver Mode and less screen flickering with the copies "Eye Saver Mode ON" and "Less Screen Flickering" below. The left side of the screen is difficult to see with lines running across, distorting the scenery. The right side with technology enabled is clear and smooth.
